By connecting Long Island and Connecticut directly by road and rail, it cuts travel times, eases congestion through New York City, and links workers to jobs, students to schools, and families to each other. From Bridgeport to the Naugatuck Valley to the East End, it's a connection built to strengthen communities for generations.

The Freedom Crossing is a regional economic-development program, enabled by major transportation infrastructure, not simply a bridge proposal.
Bridgeport becomes a transportation and development hub. The Naugatuck Valley, once a manufacturing center, reconnects to a larger labor market and supply chain.
3,000+ acres at Enterprise Park at Calverton get a direct road and rail connection off Long Island for the first time, zoned and ready for industrial and technology jobs.
